How to Care for Your Head Scarf So It Lasts for Years

Technical fabrics do not wear out from use — they wear out from heat and aggressive detergent. A few simple habits are enough to keep a scarf's stretch, colour and shape for years.
Washing
Hand wash in cold water with a mild soap. Avoid softener: it coats the fibres and reduces the grip of the fabric against the hair.
Never bleach, never soak for hours. A gentle two-minute wash is enough.
Drying and heat
Dry flat, away from radiators and direct sun. Tumble drying and ironing are the two fastest ways to destroy elastane.
Storage
Store flat or loosely rolled in its pouch, combs facing inward so they never catch on other garments. Avoid hanging, which stretches the band over time.
